About the course
This was originally a six hole course when It opened in 1948, another three holes were later added and finally, in 1986, Bill Robinson designed the other nine holes. The community where the course is located is famous for the thirty-three large, colorful murals painted on buildings depicting the logging industries' history in the area. The course is interesting in that it is more difficult than the yardage indicates. There are many dips and gullies, numerous bunkers, and a dense population of Douglas Firs, some of which have been allowed to grow on the fairways causing significant hazards. The signature hole is #18, a 434-yard, par 4, requiring a 150-yard downhill tee shot onto a dogleg right fairway and over a lake. The 5,743-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 71.8 and a slope of 124. The 5,417-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 69.8 and a slope of 120.
