About the course
This course, located near Spruce Woods Provincial Forest, is located on the Shilo Military Base. Erected during the second World War as a temporary training center, it has since become a permanent base. The terrain is relatively flat with some holes being well treed, while others are open. The greens are fairly flat but some are quite deceiving because of the natural sloping of the land. A hole talked about by many players is #16, a 98-yard, par 3, requiring a tee shot to a green nearly surrounded by trees with a frontal pond that sits in the bottom of a valley. Strategically-placed ponds affect play on three holes altogether. There are discounts available for active or military personnel.
