About the course

This resort is located near two lakes. The Dupuis sits in front of the hotel and the Masson is nearby. Adding to the scenic beauty of the course is a backdrop of the Laurentian Mountains. Dave Ross, the pro at the course, suggests a fall vacation at this course to witness the gorgeous colors of the season. The course opened with nine holes in 1962, following the original Jules Huot design, and with help from John Watson, another nine was added in 1989. There are dramatic elevation changes throughout the course, and water is certainly a factor with half the holes being affected by it. The front nine is fairly open and the back nine is tighter with tree-lined fairways. The sloping greens are small but don't forget the ball always breaks away from the mountains. A newspaper survey voted the hole #11 as being the toughest in Quebec. It is a 435-yard, par 4, requiring a 230 yard tee shot to a small landing area protected by lateral hazards, and a second shot up a seventy-five foot incline. You'll probably have to increase your club selection by two. A particularly scenic hole is #7, a 120-yard, par 3, offering a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Masson and the mountains. For the past nine years this course has hosted a Canadian Ladies Pro-Am tournament, as well as a Ladies' professional tournament. The course is the home of the Roland Stafford Golf School. There are golf packages are available for hotel guests. Tee time reservations for non-guests are available seven days in advance. The twilight rate is available after 2:30 PM.
