About the course
The New-Golf Club offers two of France's finest golf courses. Beautiful English design with views over the cities of Deauville and Trouville, the sea on one side and the valley of La Touques on the other side. Two great architects Simpson und Cotton have given the courses the real spirit of the game. The first impression is deceptive. Situated alongside the Hôtel du Golf, Deauville's 27-hole New Golf course combines the utter tranquillity of the countryside with the salty tang of the sea. From the eighteen-hole course "Blanc et Rouge" you enjoy glorious views of the Vallée du Pays d'Auge and the sea, the nine-hole course is set in typically lush rural Normandy. The courses are technically demanding and the golfer's ability and concentration has to pass a strong test. The fairways are wide, bordered with thick, impenetrable rough. The very comfortable clubhouse boasts a boutique selling exclusive golfing gear, a bar and a restaurant complete with a splendid terrace overlooking a veritable sea of green. Other amenities and leisure facilities: Swimming pool, tennis courts, conference facilities. General remarks: The area around Deauville, the region's principal resort, is especially well served with golf courses, with two at Cabourg, one each at Houlgate, St. Gatien, St. Julien-sur-Calonne and Deauville, and a new one at Tourgeville, just down the road from Deauville. Elsewhere there is the superb Omaha Beach Golf Club which overlooks the landing beaches near Port-en-Bessin, another in the outstanding surroundings of the Suisse Normande at Clécy, two on the outskirts of Caen at Biéville and Carcelles and another at Vire's Lac la Dathée in the heart of the unspoilt Bocage region.
