About the course
A natural course, along the Loire, with century-old trees embedded between the river Loire and the vineyards. Mother nature participated in creating these wonderful surroundings. A lot of bunkers and water hazards bring up interesting problems for good players but the difficulties are never disheartening and playing here always remains a pleasure. Some of the highlights of the course are certainly hole no. 6, a short par 4, but which has be be played thoughtfully. A river crosses the fairway after 150 metres/164 yards. An iron 7 would be a good choice to approach the water hazard without taking a risk. If the wind is favourable you can cross it with one shot and a birdie is as good as sure. The 13th is an extremely long par 4, almost a par 5 which requires very long shots to reach the green with at least the second. Fortunately the fairway is wide and open. At the 16th a left dogleg, you can try a birdie if your tee shot is long enough, but be aware of the huge bunker on the left side of the green. The course is perfectly maintained and with surprisingly moderate rates. For the beginners there is a 6-hole pitch & putt course, a beautiful practice area and a large putting green. Other amenities include: 9 tennis courts (2 indoor), swimming pool. Other attractions: Once in the the Pays de Loire a day without golf may be also very attractive: Five kilometres away, at the hill top, Sancerre a friendly town with its medieval streets full of history and its splendid views over the famous vineyards. At Saint-Thibault only a few metres from the golf course there are 9 tennis courts, an outdoor swimming are with three pools (undboubtedly the most beautiful in this region), a picturesque mini-golf and a marina.
