About the course
Named after a small, picturesque river, the Saint Omer Golf Club is situated in beautiful countryside. On arrival at the Club House the golfer is struck by the beauty and serenity of the undulating scenery which is so typical of the Boulogne area. Every attempt has been made to retain this enchanting environment and the course had been laid out following the natural movement of the old tilled land. Special effort has been made to do full justice to the existing trees. The course is lined by magnificent beech and oak woods and offers the player a walk that takes him through undergrowth and over hill tops that dominate the region. The Championship Course - Val Course: Its architecture enables golf players to enjoy themselves: They can play from the simplest to the most complicated strokes. Difficult starting places are divided into 3 to allow each player to play according to his level. There are open competitions almost every weekend and bank holiday from early March until mid-November. The tournaments are organised in three series, welcoming both beginners and experienced players. Beginners course - The Haute Dreve Course: This is a true 9-hole course measuring 2,015 metres/2204 yards par 31. It has been approved by the Federation. The various hazards, which include water und bunkers, have been designed to improve beginner's skill while offering a challenge to the experienced player. The clubhouse has been located to provide guests and players with a panoramic view which overlooks the 9th, 10th and 16th tee. The interiors of the restaurant and billiard room have been carefully thought out to provide an atmosphere of warmth and friendliness. Whether you want just a snack before a game or a more leisurely and sophisticated meal, the catering facilities provide for whatever amount of time each guest wishes to spend on a meal. And whether you eat à la carte or take the menu, you will be offered excellent value for money. Other amenities include: The billiard room can be converted into a meeting room which offers you the opportunity to combine work, pleasure and golf. It has 60 square metres and can accommodate up to 50 delegates. Other attractions: Saint-Omer lies in rich green country where marches, woods and open countryside mix happily together. The town borders on Arques which has a rich past and still bears many traces of the old town. The cultural life of Saint-Omer centers around the Place Foch, where you will find cinemas, a cathedral, the «Maison pour Tous» ("house for everybody") and the Music College offering exhibitions, concerts, shows and art festivals all year long.
