About the course
Set in the beautiful green countryside of the Midlands, Carlow Golf Club is a championship course combining links and parkland features. Carlow Golf Club is laid out in a wild deer park over undulating terrain with numerous elevated tees, several excellent doglegs and large, slick putting surfaces. There are many long par 4s and the 18th is the most spectacular finishing hole in Ireland. With sandy sub-soil, Carlow is playable twelve months of the year and a plugged ball is almost unheard of. The course is invariably in good condition, its qualities are further enhanced by the water hazards at the 2nd, 10th and 11th. Though a relatively short course, there are only two par 5s. The 18th offers the chance of a closing birdie and a grandstand finish as it tumbles downhill all the way back to the clubhouse. A good ending to a memorable round.
