About the course
This is one of Ireland's sunniest golf courses. The course's terrain is a mixture of links and parkland. It gives variety to each hole using the prevailing south westerly wind to great effect. An easy starting hole creates a false confidence as the 2nd and 3rd holes prove difficult to par. All the par threes are long, requiring a careful choice of club depending on wind direction. With a tail wind the 1st, 9th and 10th (par 5's) can be reached in two by the longer hitters, but water has to be carried off the tee to achieve this. The 15th, measuring 567 metres/620 yards off the championship tees is one of the longest holes in Ireland. The course proves a great test of golf for all. The last holes are reputed to be the best four finishing holes together in the country. The 17th and 18th offer spectacular views over the sea. Other amenities include: Beautiful beach, 2 tennis courts. Nearby: pony trekking, fishing, sailing, swimming. Other attractions: Beach Walks to Carne or Rosslare, fast ferry to Wales. Courses nearby: Rosslare, Enniscorthy, Courtown and Wexford.
