Costa Ballena is a completely innovative residential complex where leisure, culture and sport form a whole in perfect harmony with the unspoilt surrounding area. In respecting the surroundings and highlighting the natural beauty of the area, the 100-hectare golf course of Costa Ballena is an exceptional piece of work in perfect harmony with the countryside. In his design, José Maria Olazabal, one of the best players of our day, has created a versatile course where all handicaps have their place, an integral concept in golf that brings together the professional level with support of the amateur level. The first 18 holes are played along a transitional area between the Atlantic coast and the soft plains of the hinterland. The course stretches out over an area of exceptional beauty flanked by dunes with soft dells, slopes and four outstanding lakes. The result is an exceptionally attractive round suitable for high level competition that will soon be extended by another 9 holes situated to the East of the existing course. Recent beginners also enjoy a privileged place now that these facilities come complete with a practice field and an interesting round of 9 par-3 holes. Moreover, looking towards the future, Costa Ballena Golf Club also has a training school, the "Escuela Andaluza de Golf", known to be the meeting and preparation point of the talented youth of Andalucia.
