About the course
The Berkshire Golf Club nestles among majestic pine trees only 30 miles from the West End of London city. Both courses, the Red and the Blue, present subtle difficulties which are not always apparent from the tees. The fairways are invitingly wide and not extremely long. The greens are enclosed by rough heather and coarse grass. The Blue Course is rated #42, The Red Course is rated #55 of "The 100 greatest courses in the British Isles", Golf World 11/96. One of the highlights of the Red Course is certainly the 10th, a par 3. You play from an elevated tee over a deep ravine with bracken and heather, bordered by woods, to an elevated green steeply sloping down on its right side and a bunker on the left, thus requiring an accruate shot. It is a privilege to the golfers to play on these superb courses.
