About the course
Designed for the golf lover with a passion for the game, East Sussex National remains Britain's only stadium course capable of accommodating World Class Tournaments. The East Course is rated #45 of "The 100 greatest courses in the British Isles", Golf World 11/96. Inspired by the traditional elements of the game, carved out of 500 acres of Sussex downland and using the world renowned grass technology of Penn State University, it was possible to create playing surfaces that are already legendary. "Great Course and the greens are the slickest we've played in Europe" (Nick Faldo 1993). From the moment you arrive at Players Reception you know you are about to experience something unique and special, until now only found in America. A magnificent 27,000 square foot clubhouse, restaurant, bars, conference facilities, private member areas and oncourse accommodation, coupled with Europe's finest golf shop and the East Sussex National Academy of Golf with its 13-acre teaching centre, are just a few of the facilities that will take your breath away. East Sussex National can be designed to be one of the finest golf complexes in the world " - a terrific championship golf course and a great golfer's golf course " (Bernard Gallacher, Ryder Cup Captain, March 1993). The second course of East Sussex - The West Course - is reserved for members only.
