About the course

This is just one of seven facilities that compose the Robert Trent Jones Trail through Alabama. This facility has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. In addition, there is also a nine hole, par 3 course known as the Short Course. All these picturesque courses at this facility are surrounded by beautiful valleys and home to an abundance of wildlife. Located in the foothills of the Appalachians, golfers at this complex are often required to make shots up gently-sloping hillsides and across mountainous crevices. Locals generally consider the Mindbreaker Course as the easiest of the three regulation nines. Every course features tree-lined fairways that afford generous landing areas and undulating greens. The Backbreaker Course has several holes where water is a factor. The Heartbreaker Course, considered by many locals as the most challenging nine on the Trail, has elevated tees and greens. There are a lot of sand bunkers and most of the greens are large and tiered. Barranca crosses some of the fairways on this course, like hole #7. A seventy-five acre lake frequently comes into play throughout these courses. A yardage booklet located in the carts, is included with rental fee. A senior discount is offered for all courses Monday through Thursday before 9 AM. You can walk the courses, but pull carts are not allowed. Fridays are subject to the weekend green fees. Special "trail passes" are sold that reduce the cost of green fees. For more information or tee time reservations, call (800) 949-4444.
