About the course
This Scottish links-style course is famous because of its scenic location that is highlighted by views of humongous glaciers. Even though the fairways are wide open because there aren't many trees, you still must contend with the standard cut of rough defining their borders. In addition, the Matanuska River flows alongside the course and comes into play on seven holes. The signature hole is #6, a 350-yard, par 4, because it offers a breathtaking view of the Knik Glacier from off its green. Another aspect that makes this course a great place to visit is the nearby airport that accommodates small aircraft. Many people from all around the world enjoy flying over and playing this well-maintained course. If you call the pro shop in advance, they will be happy to send someone over to pick you up from the airport and deliver you to the course. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 4th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996.
