About the course

This club, which hosted the U.S. Open in 1955, 1966, 1987, and 1998, offers two regulation eighteen hole courses and a nine hole par 3 course. These beautiful courses offer spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and an abundance of trees make these courses very difficult. There are no water hazards on the Lake Course and only one fairway bunker. The Cliffs Course is a nine hole par 3 course, which plays alongside the ocean. The green fees indicated for the Cliffs Course apply only to members who do not hold golf privileges. Guests may play only with a member of the Olympic Club. The club has hosted the PGA Tour Championship several times. This club was originally founded in 1879 and was listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, it was recognized by "GOLF Magazine" in their lists of "The First 100 Clubs in America," "Top 100 Courses in the U.S.," and "GOLFWEEK's" category of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses."
