About the course
This thirty-six hole resort was voted by "GOLF Magazine" to its list of "Silver Medal Resorts" in 1997. The North Course is shorter than the South Course. One of its unique features is that it gives you a choice of shooting around or over its various water hazards. The North Course is the more forgiving of the two courses. The South Course has water hazards that come into play on fourteen of the eighteen holes. The signature hole is #18, a 545-yard, par 5, requiring an approach shot to an island green. This is the premier course. The course was the site of the 1980 PGA Senior Championship which was won by Don January. Both courses have some elevated tees. Michael Jordan played forty-six holes here on an off-day during the 1997 Eastern Conference finals against the Miami Heat. You must be a guest of the resort or a member of the club to play either of these courses.
