About the course
This course had restoration work done in 1995 that was overseen by Gary Grandstaff, a member of Pete Dye's staff. They replaced the original contouring of the greens and added many updated features. The greens, with new putting surfaces, are large and vary in undulation. This is a fair course because there are no hidden hazards. The finishing hole, a 543-yard, par 5, has water guarding both sides of the fairway and another water hazard sitting to the right of the well-bunkered green. The facility hosted the 1972 NCAA Championships and the 1996 Southwest Florida PGA Championship. Lessons and clinics are offered by certified PGA professionals; contact the pro shop for more information.
