About the course
This club has two regulation eighteen hole courses. The Lakeside Course features undulating fairways and water hazards coming into play on the back nine. Other than the tee boxes, level lies aren't to be found anywhere on this course. The well-bunkered greens are large and heavily undulating. The most difficult hole is #7, a 417-yard, par 4. "GOLFWEEK" awarded this course 93rd among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997. The Creekside Course, with its many swamp areas, is a real challenge. Be sure to bring enough golf balls when you play this course. The most difficult hole is #8, a 452-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a narrow fairway guarded by out-of-bounds stakes on both the right and left, then an approach shot over water to a tiered green. This club hosted a Nationwide Tournament in June, 1995. Only members of the club and their guests are allowed to play these courses. You may walk the course if you so choose, but caddies are mandatory. For additional information call the pro shop at (770) 664-8644 or log on to the club's website at www.golfclubofgeorgia.com.
