About the course
This club offers three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The Live Oak Course is the longest of the three courses and is best known for its elevated greens. The Cypress Course features water hazards (seven lakes) coming into play on six holes. The Magnolia Course is a combination of the other two designs, including both elevated greens and water hazards. The signature hole on the Live Oak Course is #9, a 581-yard, par 5, because it requires two shots over water. J. Porter Gibson redesigned nine holes and added three others in 1971. Denis Griffiths and Ron Kirby redesigned the entire course when they added the third nine in 1985. The on site Bacon Park Golf School provides instruction for all skill levels.
