About the course
Locals claim that this course is the second oldest nine hole course in America. This club was originally founded in 1889 and has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. Additionally, "GOLF Magazine" recognized it in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." The tree-lined fairways are wide and rolling. The small greens average 3,500 square feet each, and are undulating and fast. The design of this track places a premium on shot accuracy. Water comes into play on three holes. Exeter plays from 2,650 to 2,800-yards, and there are two sets of tees. Manny Francis redesigned this course in the 1950's. There is an additional set of tees for use when playing an eighteen hole round. For additional information call (603) 778-8080 or go to www.exetercountryclub.com.
