About the course
This traditional course was built on hilly terrain and is heavily tree lined. Raymond Floyd was the design consultant for this course. In 1994, "Golf Digest" rated it #5 in the state for country club courses. The greens are small and heavily undulated. Water hazards (natural streams and ponds) come into play on ten holes. The signature hole is #16, a 454-yard, par 4, which calls for a tee shot up a slight dogleg fairway, then an approach shot across two water hazards to an elevated green. The 4,984-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 65.5 and slope of 110.
