About the course
The Button Hole Golf & Learning Center opened for play September 2000, and although not affiliated with The First Tee, their goal is to bring affordable golf to young people who might not otherwise be exposed to the sport. Located a short drive from downtown Providence, Button Hole is a 9-hole par 3 course designed by P. B. Dye, Ron Pritchard, and Brad Faxon. Overall the course has a “linksy” feel and the fairways are generally open. Golfers tee off from 2 sets of slightly raised tees, and the moderately undulated greens are of average size and speed. This course will prove challenging for beginners and high handicappers, as well as an excellent “refresher course” for the experienced player. Green fees for adults are $10 for 9 holes and $15 for 18. For additional information go to www.buttonhole.org or call (401)421-1664.
