About the course
This traditional course was constructed over the gentle, rolling terrain of the Appalachian Mountains of southern West Virginia. It was selected the #1 golf course in the state by "GOLFWEEK" magazine in 1995. "Golf Digest" also rated it as the 5th "Best in State" course for the years 1995 through 1998. There's more than 200 feet of elevation change, eight lakes, and generously-sloped fairways. The greens are large in size, but well-protected by bunkers and water hazards. The signature hole is #16, a 419-yard, par 4, requiring a 210-yard carry over water to the fairway, and a second shot over water to an undulating, well-protected green. The 4,884-yard ladies' tee also has a men's rating of 73.5 and slope of 131.
